  • 4th Energy Day Brasov was a success
    • Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

At he 4th edition of Energy Day Brasov I had the honnor of welcoming over 100 participants from Germany and all over Romania. This is an encouragement that demonstrates the rising interest in the production of energy from renewable sources. The current evolutions in the area of remuneration of green energy lead to this high number of participants.

The comments made by Mr. Petru Lificiu, Vice-president of the ANRE, related to the 4 documents pertaining to the regulations soon to be published in the “Monitorul Oficial” ensure the rapid enforcement of the Law 220, with all its modifications to date. This means we need to ACT! We expect– as Mr. David from the RWEA confirmed – that in the following 2 to 3 years a promotion of the development of renewable energy will occur. This will apply for wind and solar projects.

Our plan to build an energy independent office in Brasov caught everybody’s interest – we will keep you updated in the status here, on our website www.ttm-romania.ro.

We prepared for our clients a document which contains the updated version of the Law 220; in case you are interessested in obtaining this complete document, please send us an email with your full contact details at brasov@ttm-romania.ro.

On our website  www.ziuaenergiei.ro you can find in the Download section all presentations from the event; in the Photo and Video gallery section you will find a photographic documenting of the event and in the Press Articles sections you will find echoes throughout the press of the 4th  Energy Day Brasov.

Next year,  we will organize the 5th edition of the Energy Day Brasov. We will be happy to welcome you then.

  • 1 year TTM
      • In October 2007, TTM - SC Transfer de Tehnologie si Management srl - was founded in Brasov. TTM has set itself the goal to develop projects in the field of renewable energy in Romania.

      • Today - one year later - we are proud to look back on the achievements:
      • - A project to build a biogas plant is in the process of approval.

        - More projects for the use of biomass for the combined production of electrical energy and heat (biomass power plants) are in the planning phase.

        - A project to establish a wind energy park is in the pipeline.

        - In one project we pursue the energy recovery from organic waste from the food industry.

        - We cooperate with the Technical University of Trier, in particular the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfAS) when it comes to the design of local material cycles in order to produce energy from local or regional available sources.

        - We cooperate with the Transilvania University of Brasov when it comes to the use of solar energy or the scientific monitoring of our projects; meanwhile we pass on our knowledge to the students of the university.

      • We will continue to contribute to this effort in the future too and promote:
      • - Renewable sources should be used to generate energy.

        - Energy is used more efficiently.

        - Waste is used to produce energy.

        - We plan on organizing an „energy day“ – in April 2009 in Brasov (second edition) - focusing on renewable energy, the first one held in April this year was a sound success.

  • Wind Energy Project
    • A Romanian Investor has asked TTM to do the planning for a wind farm with a total of about 20 MW in the region of Dobrogea. With a projected yearly production of electricity of over 50 million kilowatt hours (kWh) the wind park could provide for the energy consumption of around 14,000 private households. Thus the environment would be spared of about 20,000 tons/year of carbon dioxide and other pollutants from conventional power plants.

In early 2009 the first wind measurements should already take place at the projected site.

  • The first energy day - Focus on renewable energy - Braso
    • TTM has organized together with the German Business Club Brasov (DWK) and the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIBV) in mid-April 2008 with a clear motto, which was "Focus on renewable energy".

Starting from the question "How can renewable energy sources be put to use through technology transfer in Romania?" had taken place an intense exchange of ideas between the speakers, participants and representatives of manufacturers from Germany and Austria.

There was reference to aspects of the production of energy from renewable raw materials, such as from agriculture and / or food production. Because renewable resources are almost omnipresent, materials from plant fibers, wood, etc. can be used for energy production. For this reason the main focus was on the issue of biomass (wood), with special regards on pellets and pellet production in particular.

Next aspect discussed was wind power, with a large number of answers dedicated to the issue concerning compensation for power generation and energy trading and the funding options for the production of renewable energy (Green Certificates, co-generation bonus). Special attention was paid to the input of the speakers that presented the existing funding opportunities for investments from EU Structural Funds.

In an era where energy prices are increasing worldwide at high speed and the reserves of fossil fuels -like oil and gas are becoming scarce, everybody should focus on the use of renewable resources. "The pollution already is high and due to the dynamic economic development of Romania it continues to rise. In addition, the requirements of the EU regarding environmental protection will become stricter" noted Jürgen Ludwig CEO of TTM on the current situation. These technologies are already intensively used in Germany and Austria" thereby energy is generated from wind and biomass-energy-plants with a specific target" said Ludwig. The entrepreneur pointed out that Romania could and should follow this example, because there's a strong demand in this area. "If we look at the Romanian energy market as a whole it is still a disaster, how energy consumption in buildings is wasted," the CEO of TTM point towards one of many weak points in our country.

In conclusion, to the participants a general and actual overview of the general state of researchwas given, both in the academic and in the industrial area, and it was noted that without innovative thinking nothing in this field will come true at all.

RECYCLING SAVES ENERGY

Energy saving through recycling is a very important benefit for the environment, because conventional energy production requires the consumption of scarce fossil fuels and the emission of many pollutants in air and water.
